Rough-cut capacity planning converts planned volume by family into hours on each critical resource and compares them to available hours. People confuse it with detailed capacity planning, which works at the item and work-center level after the plan is firm. At the company, RCCP looks at eight packing lines by week, not every machine in the plant.
