Schedule attainment
The share of scheduled production that was made as scheduled, in the right quantity and the right period.
The share of scheduled production that was made in the quantity and period it was scheduled for.
- Formula
- quantity produced as scheduled / quantity scheduled
- Unit
- percent
- How it rolls up
- Weighted by scheduled quantity across lines and weeks, never a simple average of percentages.
Common mistakes
- Counting overproduction on one item as making up for a miss on another.
- Measuring against the schedule after it was changed to match what ran.
Schedule attainment shows how well the plant ran the schedule it was given. People confuse it with output against capacity, which can look fine while the wrong items get made. At the company, a week where Line 3 makes its total cases but skips one flavor is a miss on attainment.
